Personalisation Fonts

Overview of Personalisation Fonts

When customising your album cover, box or fine art print product, choosing the right font can make a significant impact on the overall look and feel of your design. We offer a selection of fonts suitable for different personalisation methods, including debossingfoil debossingengravingcover printing, and 22 carat gold & palladium. In addition to text, if you require a unique look, we support bespoke motifs as well.

This guide will introduce the available fonts, the personalisation methods they are compatible with, and link to other resources where you can explore more about cover text, special characters, and additional personalisation options.

Debossing & Foil Debossing Fonts

For Debossing and Foil Debossing, we use brass metal type, which requires physical metal blocks for each character. As a result, these fonts are limited to uppercase letters, numbers, and a few special characters.

  • Standard Fonts for Debossing & Foil Debossing:

Choosing the Right Font for Debossing & Foil Debossing

  • Classic & ElegantPrata offers a refined and timeless look with sharp features and organic teardrops. Prata gives a sophisticated and classic feel, making it perfect for more formal or elegant albums.
  • Contemporary Finish: Coronation provides a contemporary edge, similar in appearance to Century Gothic, and works well for clean, modern designs.
  • Sophisticated Simplicity: Fonts such as Helvetica and Bebas provide a clean and sophisticated look when used with debossing or foil debossing and lend themselves well to formal or minimalist designs.

If you want a custom design or font for debossing or foil debossing, we would need a digital motif with the text exactly as you would like it. Keep in mind that there will be additional charges for creating bespoke motifs for these personalisation methods, as the design must be turned into a custom brass die.

For a wider variety of fonts and characters, including accented letters, consider using digital personalisation methods. For more information about what characters can be used with brass metal type, please refer to our guide on Special Characters for Brass Metal Type.

Engraving, Cover Printing, 22 Carat Gold & Palladium Fonts

For EngravingCover Printing, and 22 Carat Gold & Palladium, we offer a wider selection of fonts. These methods use digital processes, allowing for more flexibility in terms of character options and customisation.

  • Standard Fonts for Digital Personalisation:

If you have a bespoke font that you’d like to use, you can provide us with a digital motif, and we can reproduce it without any additional costs. Digital personalisation methods are more adaptable, meaning we can include a wider range of characters, accents, and symbols.

For a detailed overview of which special characters are supported, visit our Special Characters for Digital Personalisation page.

Bespoke Fonts & Motifs

If none of the standard fonts meet your needs, you can always opt for a bespoke motif. This can be a custom design, a unique font, or any other text that you provide. Bespoke motifs are suitable for both digital and traditional debossing personalisation methods.

  • Debossing and Foil Debossing: Additional charges apply, as bespoke motifs need to be turned into metal dies.
  • Digital Methods (Engraving, Cover Printing, 22ct Gold & Palladium): No extra charge is incurred for bespoke motifs, and we can easily use your provided design.

For more information on how to prepare your files for bespoke motifs, visit our Logo & Bespoke Motif Specifications page.

Important Font Considerations

  • Bebas and Trajan: Both are all-caps fonts, meaning all letters will appear in uppercase. These fonts are perfect for creating bold, impactful text.
  • Bombshell and Magarella: These are script fonts that do not look good in full uppercase, as they are designed for flowing, elegant text. Magarella is particularly fine and may appear more subtle depending on the chosen personalisation method and cover material.

For more details on each font, including examples and character limits, please refer to our Character Limits for Cover Text page.

Choosing the Right Digital Font

  • Classic & Timeless: Fonts like Trajan and engraving methods create a sophisticated, traditional look.
  • Modern & Bold: Bebas, along with cover printing, offers a contemporary and impactful style.
  • Elegant & Delicate: Script fonts like Bombshell and Magarella are ideal for romantic or soft themes, especially when engraved or printed.
